(San Luis Obispo Art Center) A sneak preview of Paul
Gray’s new independent feature film, EVERYMAN will
take place on Friday, February 20 at 7pm at the Art
Center at 1010 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. The
screening is free and open to the public.
A post-apocalyptic version of the traditional Medieval Mystery play, the film is reminiscent of George Orwell’s “1984” and Francois Truffaut’s “Farenheit 451.” The movie also includes expressionistic sequences of the Seven Deadly Sins. Set in the not too distant future, the story pits Everyman against an oppressive elitist society empowered by a demonic computerized surveillance system. The film was produced with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Running time: 1 hr: 54 min.
Paul Gray, who has been described as an experimental auteur filmmaker, produced, wrote, directed and edited EVERYMAN. Previous films that Gray has screened in the area include “Starfish,” and “The Ballad of Dorothy Dunn.”
Following the screening, the audience will have a chance to meet the filmmaker and will be invited to fill out reaction cards.
